Winner of the President's Art Award

I am pleased to announce this year's winner of the President's Art Award, Danielle LaSusa!  Danielle painted a beautiful self-portrait in a field of sunflowers.  When I saw the painting I immediately thought it a great representation of Res students!  The joyful appearance of the young lady and  the bright earthy colors convey hope and resilience that are part of Resurrection.

The sunflowers also reminded me of our school motto, Caritate et Veritate.   Sunflowers turn and follow the sun as it moves through the sky, and we turn to follow God's Word or Truth as He moves and guides us throughout the day.  Sunflowers are also a symbol of Caritate as they generously sacrifice their seeds as food for birds and other animals.  Res girls sacrifice time and talent throughout the year in so many charitable works and in no more outstanding a way than the recent donation of their locks for wigs for chemo patients.

Danielle's picture truly represents all Res Students and is a beautiful work of art!

Thank you and congratulations Danielle.

Women Ready to Make a Difference in Tomorrow's World

Special THANK YOU to seven seniors who have volunteered their time and experience to help us build goals for the 2020 Res Strategic Plan.

The best strategic plans are those that put the persons being served in the very center of all the goals. We have attempted to do just that by listening to various focus groups as we plan for the next 3 years.

The most important group advising us were the 7 representatives from the 2017 Class.

Thank you to Rahma Almajid, Alyssa Czachor, Emily Knup, Peyton LaValley, Frederika Shero, Alyssa Walsh and Megan Wilder.  These young women joined the President's Advisory Committee in the fall and met with me over the course of the year to review all the major strategies and then provided excellent advice and input!

Thank you seniors!
