Easter Week in Review

Easter Monday the Sisters of the Resurrection always have a special celebration.  This year three of our Resurrection College Prep High School Seniors provided the entertainment.  Sophia Acevedo, Mallory Coakley and Katia Velisaris played and sang several beautiful songs including "The Prayer."
The Sister were very impressed by our Resurrection talent!

On Tuesday the Greek Club colored beautiful red eggs and shared the traditional story of Saint Mary Magdalene and the red egg.

On Palm Sunday, April 9th, the Resurrection Men's Club honored their daughters, moms, aunts, grandmothers and other women who serve as role models to our Res students.  The morning started with a beautiful Mass and followed with a delicious brunch.

The officers of the Men's Club presented the school with a check of $1,500.  We are deeply grateful to our Resurrection Men's Club for all the support they give to us!

Blessed and Happy Easter

We wish you a Blessed and Happy Easter!

As Mary Magdalene recognized the Risen Jesus when He called her by name, may each of us hear the voice of Jesus in our hearts this Easter as He calls us by our name and reassures us of His love!

Like Mary Magdalene let's share Christ's message of LOVE and PEACE with all whom we meet.

God bless you and your families!

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Res

On March 31st we celebrated the opening of our new Track!  The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony with Nancy Stachnik, Chair of the Board, and Sister Virginia Ann, C.R., the Provincial Superior of the Sisters, cutting ribbon #1.  The second ribbon was cut by Coach Kelly McClearn and Res Junior, Mary Quinn.

Carol Marchetti led the participants in singing Amazing Grace, the National Anthem and the closing hymn, How Great Thou Art.

A powerful moment was when Coach Fred Angelini asked everyone to raise their hands over the Res Runners while he led a prayer for our current student runners and for all the Res runners of the past and future.

New ships are launched with a bottle of Champagne, so appropriately Coach Dan Mendez launched the new track with a bottle of clear Gatorade.  Finally, Faith Cloherty, carrying the American Flag, led the Res Track Team in the official opening run around the track.  Below are some pictures.

Lent, a Perfect Time for a Service Palooza

Last week, the 4th Week of Lent, was a perfect time to host a Service Palooza.  Thanks to Chelsea Piper, Campus Minister, and the members of Anastasia, everyone at Res had the opportunity to participate in some good work that will touch the lives of others.

Projects were designed to reach out to the elderly and young, near-by neighbors and those far away, the hungry and the lonely, human brothers and sisters as well our four-legged friends in pet shelters.

Thanks for letting God's love shine through you!  You have brightened many lives!
